Coyles hectic week topped off with a bag of points After a very busy week attending the Australian Institute of Sport for a Nasr sport & fitness program Sprintcar driver Kris Coyle has come away from the latest round of the AHG series at the Perth Motorplex with a bag full of points and two spots closer to the top of the table (third). Coyle finished 7th in the hectic battle coming from a lowly position 16 in the 25 lap A main event.
“It was full on out there tonight it’s always hard with so much
traffic but I am definitely happy with seventh as it helps us in the
point’s standings”. Coyle commented. For Coyle the 16th starting position is unfamiliar territory of late but was the result of a spin in one of his heats in an effort to miss another car who had gone wayward and a seventh place finish in his second heat. “I was either going to hit the other car big time or spin to miss and go to the rear so I chose the latter, it was still good fun out there making up those nine positions the track had slicked of some but was still quite reasonable”. The end result means Coyle is now only 38 points behind second placed and Saturday nights race winner Ryan Farrell, with still several meetings and a bag full of points up for grabs it’s still up for grabs. “I will just keep on doing my best and if we can keep in the top three I will be wrapped with that”. Sports Development Program a winner for Coyle The week leading up to Saturday night’s meeting Coyle was undertaking a number of rigorous tests and seminars as part of the Australian Institute of Sports Development Program. Kris was selected after a selection panel picked the young gun to assist him in his future development both on and off the track. “It was awesome we worked on quite a bit of fitness first then followed by nutrition and psychology work on mental attitudes and how to get the best out of yourself. I go quite a bit out of the time there, the nutritional value and what and what not to eat to assist you when competing was an eye opener”. Racing Sprintcars you need to be on your game and this is one area Kris is working and found the program invaluable. “It wasn’t just getting onto a treadmill and going for it, they really worked through a number of areas that can help me obtain a higher fitness level and to maintain it and build on it”. Now that the February race fest is now over and Kris is back from his sports program the team turns it focus to this week’s big show at Manjimup Speedway for the next round of the AHG series.
Kris Coyle and Trucks Plus Racing would like to thanks everyone
involved in the Australian Institute of Sport and the Sports
Development program for their assistance throughout the week.
