COYLES STANDOUT PERFORMANCE

First up outing of the season ends with disappointment

The Trucks Plus concept Murphy car proved it has plenty of potential with some good results during it's first outing of the new season on the 24th October. Coyle was certainly working the right rear coming off the turns during his qualifying and was chasing down some of the more fancied competitors on the big dark clay way.

'The car felt great, I like a car that drivers off the right real hard and this car certainly does that. I'm not sure where we ended up in time trials but if we can continue to develop the car along those lines I think we will have a pretty good car soon" Said and very upbeat Coyle.

So sixth place was a great result in the 25 car field and with the format Coyle started at the rear in his heats and worked his way up to fifth and sixth respectively and was looking for a strong result going into the A main event where he would start out of fifth.

"Very happy with that starting spot” Coyle commented just prior to the feature but 25 laps is a long journey in such a big field and anything can happen and unfortunately for Coyle it did. A superb run into third place by the second lap and a right front wheel caught a rut which bent a radius rod severely pulling the rightside of the axle back. The stewards checked it and deemed it not safe to continue and it was left on the grass. It was the end of a potentially great night.

"It's a huge disappointment for all of us, everything was going so well and a rut caused that amount of damage, very surprised that it did it but that is all part of racing” Said a dejected Coyle.

No doubt the team has lost a large amount of points to other teams but expect the trucks Plus team to fight there way back into contention as they have every year.
