Coyle takes third in Thunder Series

The quiet achiever Kris Coyle finished a strong fourth in the final round of the Southern Thunder series at the south west venue in Manjimup. Coyles fourth gave him enough points to finish third overall in the series.

 “I am very happy with third, we may have got close to knocking it off if we didn’t have the  DNF at Margaret River with a broken steering box but that is how it goes” Said an enthused Coyle.

 Coyles weekend was a consistent one with 8^th in time trials then a fourth and second in his heats and by the end of the A dash Coyle lined up in seventh for the main. 

“It was such a fast track and it was very hard to pass so when you could you had to make the most of it”.

 Throughout the A main Coyle stayed in touch with the lead group and slowly had made headway by midrace, as the pace picked up several cars succumbed to differing mechanical issues or crashes and by the races end Coyles consistency had paid off crossing the finish line in fourth and cementing that third for the series.

 “We went out there as hard as we could and towards the latter part of the race the dust came up quite a bit, but the track still had plenty of grip; it was a credit to the people that prepared the track”.

 Manjimup again dished up the good old country hospitality and had the fans packed in wanting plenty of Sprintcar action, which they certainly got.

 “I just want to thank the people that came out to watch us they were really friendly and interested in what we were doing we can’t wait to go back again next year if they will have us”.

 Coyle is also sitting in third place in the prestigious AHG Sprintcar Series, with the next round at the Perth Motorplex this coming weekend.
